Rise of the Technology Class

These conversations are between students from Ecuador, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the US who see technology serving a higher purpose: A counter-culture to their predecessors. This is evidence of a new type of generative class who apply technology to their creativity with art, music, science and involvement within the community. Their activity is transparent and active to our evolving civility. These multinational students are socially conscious storytellers. The Moderator of this conversation, Michael Davis is an Executive MBA graduate of Steinbeis University Germany, The Berlin School of Creative Leadership.

Jacqueline – music, music, music!

I can’t say that I dislike music but I can’t also say that it has any impact on me, well not contemporary music that’s for sure. The music I’ve been listening to hasn’t really done anything to change what I think or how I feel.

The music that is played right now is very moronic. Nothing makes any sense in today’s music…just about how people feel when they break-up and how every relationship and its break-up was different from the other. The relationship songs are nonsense and almost every artist’s songs are all relationship song, it really doesn’t have a story to it, rather than something that says “I love you take me back” and the next song about the same person saying, “You hurt me and I want you away from me.” I’m so tired of it. Listening to the same thing over and over again, I’ve decided to start listening to some older stuff. I mean my friends were listening to them and my dad is such a huge fan of all those classic artist, so what’s gonna hurt if i listen to them.

zelinI remember hanging out with my dad when I was little, maybe around 7 or 8 and the first bands I have ever listened to were bands like The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Metallica and the very very first one was The Beatles. There was something about those bands that really got to me.

There was some sort of a strange but amazing vibe that I got from listening to them and I really enjoyed it. This went went on utill I started seventh grade, then I kind of turned away from it. It is such a shame that I walked away from that part of my life. But since seventh grade my brain was rotten with such toxin tunes. Like I said, it’s not all bad but it is to a point where it’s just pure garbage.

I guess where I am trying to go with this is that music changes through every generation and the more it changes the more and more it’s just plain trash.

“The Doors- People Are Strange”

“Miley Cyrus- The 7 Things I Hate About You”

You be the judge.  Miley or The Doors?

Salvador – Duel of Titans

iphone-nokian97
Nokia launches its most advanced mobile, the N97 – and Apple launches the new iPhone 3GS in 75 countries, the third generation iPhone. The N97, is the “crown jewel” of Nokia, the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile devices.

In this world, a very big duel.

But there are many good phones now on the market, very similar to these two mobiles. LG, Blackberry and Samsung have very good touch-screen phones, like the new LG Sand (“LG Arena” in Spanish)

Caridad – My musical tastes

I like a bit of everything. Classical music such as Beethoven and Mozart; Spanish pop music – The Rosario Flores, Pignoise; Irish pop music – The Script. Telenovelas’s music; “Las tontas no van al cielo,” “pasion de gavilanes,” “rebelte way.”; The typical music of the Disney factory; High School Musical, Hanna Montana, Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner.

The kind of music I like most is the English pop; Leona Lewis, Ashley Tisdale, Craig Davis, Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift and many more.

*Telenovela: a series with great drama and it always leaves you wanting more. And this is because they leave you with the curiosity of what will happen in the next chapter.

Nikolas – To Late

One of the biggest things I do not like about technology is that they keep coming out with better versions of things and updating features so quickly. Sure its good to make progress, but the companies could space it out a little. Like you save up for an iphone for a year and you finally get one and you go running to brag and show it to your friends and there like, pshh you got the old version, your lame. Its really not fair. And people always say wait for the next version to come out to buy it, but there is never really a final version is there? You just have to choose which version you want and settle for that model. This is not just with phones, but cars, video games, mp3’s and computers.

Ryan – David Letterman v. Palin Family

letterman-palin

letterman-palin

when i heard that the Palin family had released a statement attacking David Letterman for a joke he made on his show, i was a little frustrated. Late night talk shows are about comedy and jokes that you can’t say on the 5 o’clock news. I feel like the Palin family was just angry that they were the butt of another joke and used their “popularity” to share their anger. This is a prime example of how people are over sensitive to things in America. People can’t take a joke nowadays. Was it a joke in poor taste? Ahh yeah, but it’s late night T.V. its not like Letterman was making fliers with that joke on in and handing it out to kinds in grammar school. Aren’t we a little too sensitive?

MODERATOR NOTE:  Did you see the show or see all the hype on blogs, web news sites and YouTube? Great post, thank you.
