Rise of the Technology Class

These conversations are between students from Ecuador, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the US who see technology serving a higher purpose: A counter-culture to their predecessors. This is evidence of a new type of generative class who apply technology to their creativity with art, music, science and involvement within the community. Their activity is transparent and active to our evolving civility. These multinational students are socially conscious storytellers. The Moderator of this conversation, Michael Davis is an Executive MBA graduate of Steinbeis University Germany, The Berlin School of Creative Leadership.

Cristo – San Fermín

“At first the bulls were not on this journey, but unspecified date in the butchers, to get the guild won (that is why they were reserved for the section of Santo Domingo), began to accompany the shepherds at work to guide the Bulls to the square and halter.”

Over time this became popular entertainment as men began to run in front of the animals. In 1852, the bull-ring built a stable at San Fermin location. Since 1899 spent the night in the Santo Domingo corrals.

This is a typical song of san fermín…

“Uno de enero, dos de febrero,
tres de marzo, cuatro de abril,
cinco de mayo, seis de junio
siete de julio, ¡SAN FERMÍN!
A Pamplona hemos de ir,
con una media, con una media,
a Pamplona hemos de ir
con una media y un calcetín.”

or from Google’s rough translator:

“One January, two in February,
March three, four in April,
Cinco de Mayo, six in June
seventh day of July, ¡SAN FERMÍN!
In Pamplona, we must go,
in half, with half,
We go to Pamplona
and with half a sock.”

Veena – Nature and Technology

It seems like the more advanced technology gets, the less we need to interact with nature.

In our fully-insulated homes we are immune to the extreme weather outside. It was nearly 90F (34C) degrees in Chicago today, but my room was nice and cool at 70F (21C) degrees. Instead of taking long walks or going for a run outside, we go to gyms and health clubs to work out on machines. These things are designed to make life easier… and they do, without a doubt. But it also means that we spend less time outside and less time exploring an environment with its own amazing technology that wasn’t created by humans.

On one hand I feel like we should all spend more time in nature and less time inside with our own technology (which I am extremely guilty of)… But on the other hand, I feel like… it’s the 21st century. Men have been to the moon and back many times now, we have cured diseases that once killed millions of people, and we have figured out a way to alter peoples’ appearances with surgery so that they are unrecognizable… After all these advances in technology, science, etc… Why hasn’t anyone come up with a good way to keep spiders from coming into my room?

I as born in Pamplona/Iruña (Navarra/Nafarroa) the 29th of june 1993.
Now, I live in a small town called Orihuela/Oriola, situated in Alicante, south-east of Spain.

Orihuela is a monumental town, there are lots of gothic churches, palaces and old buildings. Orihuela has much history. Hundreds of years ago, Orihuela was one of the most important cities in Spain. 84.626 people live here now.

I like music, going to the cinema, reading, watching TV, skiing (I go skiing every year, I love skiing), swimming, going snorkeling, riding on bike, playing computer games.

I love the beach (I go to the beach every weekend and on holidays), I love the mountain too.

I rarely buy computer games, I download them on the internet.

Spanish films aren’t very good. I don’t  normally see Spanish films, I prefer hollybood films, but many of those films are very unreal.

I listen to Spanish music, but also a lot of music in English. I like all kind of music, no, sorry, I don´t like house and reggae – but especially like rock, hard rock, SKA, heavy. I like Mago D e Oz, Marea, Boikot…and many others.

On TV, I see Spanish programs, like “Salvados”, “Buenafuente”, “El Intermedio” and “Qué vida más triste”. I normally see American films. I see some TV series like “Aida”, “Aquí no hay Quien Viva” and American series like House, CSI and Criminal Minds.

I really enjoy reading. I like Harry Potter, like Samantha. My Spanish literature and language teacher is Rosa Cáceres, and she´s a writer. I’ve read one of her books and she writes very good. My fauvorite writers are Dan Brown, J.K Rowling, Ken follet, Tolkien and Ildefonso Falcones.

One of the best books I have read is “The sea cathedral”.

The story happens in Barcelona in the middle ages

I took it from a shelter and i said to my mom buy it to me please. My mom bougth it. And since that moment i start to read like a crazy. Hehe, i know its weird, but, when i have issues or troubles, i like to have an open door to another world, another story.
My favorite author is, definelty, Stephen King. He is for me the best of horror, insanity, dreamscapes and nightmares that keep you up with fear all the night and still then you want more. I ve been read:
Carrie

Michael – This is an example of the new technology class…

“Youth Technology Corps (YTC) began when David Finkel, former high school teacher and community organizer, was looking for creative ways to engage students in an after school club. He brought used computers to his students and said “See what can you do with these”. Being naturally curious and creative, they took apart the computers, learned how to repair them, and then set up a computer lab for the school.”
