Rise of the Technology Class

These conversations are between students from Ecuador, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the US who see technology serving a higher purpose: A counter-culture to their predecessors. This is evidence of a new type of generative class who apply technology to their creativity with art, music, science and involvement within the community. Their activity is transparent and active to our evolving civility. These multinational students are socially conscious storytellers. The Moderator of this conversation, Michael Davis is an Executive MBA graduate of Steinbeis University Germany, The Berlin School of Creative Leadership.

Jacqueline – Throw Away Your Television

no TV

no TV

We  use TV as a source for different things – what is going on in the world or in your fair city; how to and how don’t; what to wear and what not. Some people just find TV as a way to kick back and relax, have a little laugh and not deal with reality… but isn’t TV is mostly garbage?

Almost everything on TV is pure nonsense. These little programs are feeding you nothing, but you keep eating it up and wanting more! Some shows for example like Gossip Girl – a bunch of rich teenagers with high school drama; 90210 – the same thing as Gossip Girl; America’s Next Top Model – girls from around the country wanting to be models a.k.a. “a talent show.” The stories are all the same. Is it sad that some of the shows that I’m labeling are some of my favorite shows. All I watch is kids with drama? All of you might agree that these shows are a bunch of garbage, but we can’t help it…you guys love the shows too.

Exception to my previous paragraph: Some shows like the late night talk shows bring out some useful information, the news obviously. One of my favorite is The Soup, a show that makes fun of the shows!  And, I like some clever shows with loads of laughs like Conan and Saturday Night Live.

I’m not telling you that you should literaly throw away your television. It’s kind of funny actually…I’m posting this blog about how bad TV programs are, but I’m going to college to major in television. Ironic huh?

jeje yes, ironic. There are a lot of bad programs like the programs you have said, but there are some good programs like El Intermedio and Salvados. That programs are very different than the others. they combine humor with the critique of society and politics.
